UNM Rapid Care is a high-quality convenient clinic staffed by a board-certified Family Physician and Certified Nurse Practitioner providing episodic care for common conditions, as well as providing wellness services and referrals in a patient-friendly environment.

Which conditions are treated at the UNM Rapid Care Clinic?

UNM Rapid Care clinicians are experienced in treating all common medical conditions such as strep throat, ear infections, urinary tract infection, skin rashes, and many others. oUR Clinicians will treat these conditions with antibiotics or other medications when appropriate. , Additionally, our clinicians provide a broad array of preventive services, including laboratory screening tests and physical examinations. Which conditions are not treated at the UNM Rapid Care Clinic?

Since we are not an urgent care facility, our clinicians do not provide care for complicated conditions such as broken bones, major lacerations/trauma, or chronic conditions. If you have any questions about the conditions we treat, please call the clinic at (505) 272-4010.

Which tests or screenings are available at the UNM Rapid Care Clinic?

At UNM Rapid Care, you can receive most common blood tests. Our tests include, but are not limited to, screenings for high cholesterol, diabetes, heart disease, liver and kidney function, and thyroid disease.

How do I access my screening and test results?

Some screening and test results are available immediately while others take up to 14 business days. Our clinician will contact you if your lab results require a referral to a primary care physician for follow up.

When is the UNM Rapid Care Clinic open?

Our clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.

Do I need an appointment?

While you do not need to make an appointment, patients with a scheduled appointment will be seen before walk-in patients. Walk in patient will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis. To make an appointment with one of our providers, please call (505) 272-4010.

Can I go to the UNM Rapid Care Clinic for any issue?

No. UNM Rapid Care is designed for episodic care and the clinicians do not have the resources that are available in an urgent care center or an emergency room. UNM Rapid Care will treat you quickly and effectively for routine illnesses. We don’t treat broken bones, major lacerations/trauma, or chronic conditions, such as, high blood pressure, diabetes, or elevated cholesterol. However, we do administer screening tests that are related to the above-mentioned chronic conditions.

Can UNM Rapid Care clinicians renew prescriptions for chronic conditions?

No, our providers cannot treat nor prescribe for chronic conditions. Patients with chronic conditions will be referred to a primary care physician for proper treatment.

How much does a visit cost?
