The U.S. Preventive Service Task Force (USPSTF) recommends HIV screening for ages 15-65 years old, in addition to all pregnant women. The CDC recommends annual testing, but individuals with increased risk factors should get tested more frequently, including adolescent and adult men who have sex with other men, people who inject drugs, sex workers, anyone who has recently or presently has an STI, and anyone who has had unprotected sex.

In addition to preventive testing, we offer free condoms at UNM Truman Health Services.

At UNM Truman Health Services, we believe education is fundamental to HIV/Stage 3 (AIDS) awareness. We are the 2013 and 2014 OUTstanding Medical Partner presented by Albuquerque Pride and we maintain a strong GLBTQ community presence to help educate our community and raise HIV awareness. We provide HIV/Stage 3 (AIDS) awareness and prevention presentations upon request.

Our goal is to not only provide preventive education, but to also answer any questions you may have about Albuquerque HIV/Stage 3 (AIDS) treatment.
