Diagnostic Assessments for Behavioral Health
UNM Truman Health Servicesconnects people living with HIV with the compassionate, non-judgmental support they need. Our behavioral health division specializes in HIV-related care and are specially trained to provide a thoughtful, accurate diagnostic assessment of your concerns to determine the best treatment plan for your needs.
During your diagnostic assessment, it is important to disclose:
- The severity of behavioral health difficulties
- How they impact your day-to-day life
- If they impair your day-to-day life
- How often you are in distress about your behavioral health
- A personal support system you trust
Diagnostic assessments are informal, guided conversations performed in a relaxed environment. At the end of your visit, your behavioral health specialist may recommend prescriptions, laboratory tests, or other options to begin treatment.
